JOIN US ON A FOOTSTEPS TRIP IN 2026!

Pam and I have been leading our unique historically-informed, spiritually-focused pilgrimages for nearly 40 years now. For more information visit www.footsteps-experience.com. If you have wanted to go to the Holy Land and walk in the historical footsteps of Jesus and/or Paul on a spiritual journey but have been unsure about safety, I want to reassure you it is safe to go! Over these past two years we have been forced to cancel 16 Jesus trips, but now things have opened up again and it is safer than ever to travel in Israel. Just to confirm that, I asked a number of our friends who live in the Holy Land, or have recently returned from there, if it is safe to visit the historical sites and this is what they said (this was before the signing of the new peace plan for Gaza):

• Denis, a pastor friend who led a trip to Israel in the spring: “We were in Israel April 25 to May 9 this year. We traveled to all our typical pilgrimage stops without incident. The security around Gaza is very effective. We visited Bethlehem and fellowshipped with believers there and felt completely safe."

• Robin, a pastor friend who recently returned from Israel: “We just finished a 10-day pilgrimage throughout the country of Israel. We traveled in both Israeli and Palestinian territories. We felt safe the entire time. The time in the Holy Land was transformational for everyone in our group.“

• George, a friend who lives in the Old City of Jerusalem: “I know when pilgrims watch the news they think it’s not safe to travel. But it’s totally safe here! Pilgrims can visit all the holy and historical sites freely and safely! What’s happening in Gaza is only there and it doesn’t affect anyone all around the country. I noticed lately that there are some groups coming back to visit and they are all enjoying their time here! I met two American couples today at my store and they said it’s even safer than the States here. And life here is normal, everything works normally, all the restaurants and markets are open, also all the historical and holy sites are open, just waiting for visitors to come here!“

• Abood: a friend who lives in Bethlehem: “It's really safe nowadays to visit the Holy Land. Some groups have started to come to visit. The problem and the war not here, it's in Gaza. The Pilgrims can visit the holy sites freely and without any problems. Yesterday, one of my good friends called me, and he said that he has a couple of Americans, so I took them for a tour, and they enjoyed their time.“

• Nariman: a friend who lives in the West Bank: “Pilgrims have always journeyed to the Holy Land, even through times of uncertainty. Today, with careful guidance and awareness, the pilgrimage remains possible and relatively safe. The main holy sites are open and welcoming, and countless pilgrims continue to walk in the footsteps of faith in peace.”
