What does it mean to become a God-Experience mission partner?

Jesus launched his public ministry with the invitation, “Come follow me.” About three years later he commissioned his disciples by saying, “Go and make disciples.” The result was a powerful movement of every day men and women who changed the world by the power of the Spirit! But today many have forgotten this Way of Jesus. Increasing numbers of young people are turning away from the faith and fewer lost people are being found. We believe this is a trend that can be turned around by recovering the Way of Jesus and training disciples to live a more Jesus-shaped life.

Pam and I met nearly 40 years ago on the mission field in Eastern Europe, smuggling Bibles and books to persecuted Christians living under communism. After spending 25 years leading local churches in America, we felt called to quit our jobs and sell our house so we could invest ourselves more fully in the mission of “Empowering people to walk more closely in the footsteps of Jesus every day.” We have come full circle now, embracing our call as full-time missionaries again and need your partnership to fulfill that calling.

God-Experience, our non-profit 501c3 ministry is focused on three specific ways of restoring Jesus-shaped missional discipleship to the core of the church’s calling:

  1. Training: Equipping leaders and missionaries in a more Jesus-shaped lifestyle of biblical discipleship & mission

  2. Trips: Leading people on unique learning experiences in Israel, Palestine, Turkey, and Greece, following the Footsteps of Jesus and the Footsteps of Paul

  3. Teaching: Writing books and producing videos that help people learn to follow Jesus more closely and extend his Kingdom more effectively

Recently, a new door for our mission has opened in the Middle East and North Africa. At the request of church leaders in Egypt and Lebanon, we have begun a partnership with a mission organization in Cairo to train and equip pastors and church leaders in Egypt to be more effective at reaching people in their own country and across the Arabic-speaking world. Three times a year we travel to the Middle East and North Africa to invest in key leaders and train them in Jesus-shaped discipleship and mission. The need is great and the demand is growing more quickly than we can train and multiply leaders. Given the poverty endemic to that part of the world, these leaders can’t pay much for their training, so we need to raise the money to make all this possible.

Pam and I believe this is the most important work of our lifetimes, but we know we can’t do it alone. We need partners like you to join us if we are going to be able to sustain this mission. Each year we fly over 60,000 miles and drive over 9,000 miles, traveling with hundreds of people to fulfill this mission, and are vividly aware we need your prayers just as much as your financial partnership! We are actively looking for new Mission Partners who believe in this mission and want to partner with us by praying regularly for our work and contributing regularly to our non-profit 501c3.
